Auction Terms & Conditions
The rules governing bidding, deposits, refunds, and payment — read before you place your first bid.
1. What Bidding Means
Placing a bid on Near Me Auction is a binding offer to buy the listed item at that price. By confirming a bid, you agree that if you are the highest valid bidder when the auction closes, you are obligated to complete payment and the purchase.
2. Deposits
Most auctions require a refundable security deposit before you can bid — the exact amount (typically a percentage of the item's stated Initial Value) is always shown on the lot page before you pay. The deposit is not the bid amount. It does not need to be repaid for each new bid on the same lot.
3. If You Win
Your deposit is applied toward the final winning bid. You must pay the remaining balance within the payment deadline shown on your order (commonly 24 hours from when the auction closes). Failure to pay in time may result in forfeiture of your deposit and restriction of your account from future auctions, as described below.
4. If You Lose
Your deposit is refunded in full once the auction result is finalised. Refunds are processed within our published service window and tracked through an auditable transaction ledger — you can check the status any time under My Auctions → Deposits.
5. Non-Payment & Forfeiture
If a winning bidder fails to complete payment within the deadline, their deposit may be forfeited, and their account may be temporarily suspended from bidding on future auctions. Near Me may then offer the item to the next eligible bidder, relist it, or cancel the auction, at our discretion.
6. Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited and may result in bid cancellation, deposit forfeiture, and account suspension: a seller bidding on their own listing; using multiple accounts to manipulate a price; automated/bot bidding; and any other attempt to interfere with fair, transparent bidding.
7. Auction Cancellation
Near Me may cancel an auction for reasons including product unavailability, damage, an incorrect listing, suspected fraud, a technical issue, or a legal/compliance concern. If an auction is cancelled, all eligible secured deposits for that auction are refunded in full.
8. Bid Timing & Anti-Sniping
All auction times are governed by our server clock, not your device. A bid placed shortly before an auction's scheduled close may automatically extend the closing time by a short window, giving other bidders a fair opportunity to respond. The current closing time is always shown live on the lot page.
9. Authoritative Record
The official record of every bid, deposit, and auction result is maintained on our servers. Nothing displayed in your browser — including any countdown timer — determines the actual outcome of an auction.
10. Disputes
If you believe an error occurred with a bid, deposit, or order, contact our support team with your order or auction reference as soon as possible so we can investigate.
Note: These terms describe how the Near Me Auction platform operates. They are not a substitute for independent legal advice, and Near Me does not represent that this page satisfies any specific requirement of Nepalese law. Contact us with questions before bidding if anything here is unclear.
