Auction FAQ
Everything you need to know before you bid. Still unsure about something? Read the full Auction Terms & Conditions or contact us.
Near Me Auction is a competitive-bidding marketplace for real products sold and fulfilled by Near Me. Every listing is a genuine item with a transparent, server-timed auction — not a game of chance.
Each auction has a starting bid and closing time. You place bids in real time; the highest valid bid when the auction closes wins. Bid increments follow a published table so everyone sees the same rules.
Most auctions require a refundable deposit — usually 10% of the item's stated Initial Value — before you can place your first bid. The exact amount is always shown on the lot page before you pay.
Your deposit is fully refunded once the auction closes and the result is finalised — you never lose money for bidding and not winning.
Refunds are processed within our published SLA (typically a few business days) after the auction ends, and you can track the status any time under My Auctions → Deposits.
Your deposit is applied toward the final price. You pay the remaining balance within the payment window shown on the lot (commonly 24 hours), then we arrange delivery or pickup.
Your deposit is forfeited per our Auction Terms, and your account may be temporarily restricted from bidding on future auctions. We may then offer the item to the next highest bidder or relist it.
No — every bid is binding once placed, which is why we ask you to confirm before it's submitted. Please bid only amounts you're prepared to pay.
The highest valid bid on record when the server-side closing time is reached wins. This is decided entirely on our servers — never by anything shown in your browser.
If Near Me cancels an auction (e.g. the item became unavailable), every participant with a secured deposit is refunded in full, and we'll notify you of the reason.
Every bid is timestamped by our server the instant it's received — never by your device's clock, which could be wrong or manipulated.
It depends on the current price — smaller increments at lower prices, larger at higher prices. The exact minimum for your next bid is always shown on the lot page.
A bid placed in the final minutes automatically extends the closing time by a short window, giving other bidders a fair chance to respond — this is shown live on the lot page, never just as a browser countdown.
Near Me Auction currently uses manual/offline payment — bank transfer, wallet, or cash — verified by our team. Full instructions (account details, QR code) are shown wherever a payment is needed; there's no card or gateway checkout to worry about.
Every rule covering bids, deposits, refunds, forfeiture, and cancellation is published on our Auction Terms & Conditions page — please read it before placing your first bid.
